- A set of tools will be assigned to each person. That person is responsible to care for them as if they were their own. Any tools which are lost, stolen, or broken from misuse will be replaced by the trainee at his or her own expense.
- If you have your own tools, please, bring them. A person is always more comfortable when using tools they are familiar with. Anvils and forges will be provided.
- Materials will be provided such as horseshoes, horseshoe nails, sanding blocks, pads and packing, bar stock, etc.
- Lab fees may be added when working with acrylics, glue on shoes, rebuild kits, etc.
- "Doug Butler's Principals of Horseshoeing III" (click
on text name for more information), will be the required text. Each
individual will be expected to purchase this text which is not included
in the costs.
- You will be expected to provide your own work clothes and boots. All clothes must be clean and presentable to the general public. Jeans, t-shirts (with no vulgarity or offensive prints), a pair of sturdy work boots, and a ball cap are helpful.
